1. The first step to accessing the Canvas calendar is click the calendar icon in the global navigation menu.
2. The calendar will show you the events and assignments for your classes either in week, month, or agenda view. There are two ways to add an event to your calendar. You can click the Create New Event icon or click on a calendar date. Click January 7th.
3. Add a Title to your new event.
4. Click Event Start Time .
5. Click Event End Time .
6. Click Location. This can either be a link to an online web conferencing platform, or a physical classroom or office location.
7. Click the Calendar dropdown to select which calendar you want for this event.
8. Select Educational Technology and Psychology
9. Now click Submit
10. You can edit your new calendar event. Click on the event.
11. Click Edit
12. Click More Options
13. Click the editor to add content.
14. Let's modify the Location.
15. Click Update Event
16. You can change the colors for your courses. Let's change the color for the course: Educational Technology and Psychology. Click the kabob icon.
17. You can pick a color from the Canvas options or use your own color. Click the HTML color box and we'll add a custom color.
18. Click Apply
19. You can toggle courses on and off in the calendar view. Click the color icon for the course Educational Technology and Psychology.
20. Click the icon to toggle off the course Photoshop in Education.
21. Click again to toggle on Educational Technology and Psychology.
22. Click once more to toggle on Photoshop in Education
23. You can easily change assignment and event dates by dragging and dropping. Let's drag the assignment Microsoft Sway on Thursday, 1/20, and drop it onto Friday, 1/21.
24. Let's explore a different calendar view. Click Agenda.
25. The agenda view presents assignments and events in a sequential syllabus format. You can toggle courses on or off. Click the color icon for the course Educational Technology and Psychology to hide it from view.
26. Let's modify an assignment. Click the assignment Captioning a video.
27. Click Edit
28. Here we can modify the title and due date. To edit the content of the assignment, click More Options.
29. Here we have access to the full Rich Content Editor and assignment details.
30. Click to add Points.
31. In the Submission Type dropdown menu, select Online.
32. In the Online Entry Options, click Media Recordings.
33. Scroll down and click Save or Save & Publish.
34. Let's add a to-do list item. Click on the calendar date Wednesday, 1/5.
35. Click the tab: My To Do.
36. Click Title
37. Choose a time.
38. You can add details to your note.
39. Click Submit
40. And that's an overview of the Canvas calendar.
