When choosing a major, it's beneficial to research how easily your degree will transfer to another institution. Harford Community Colleges has formal articulation agreements with many four-year colleges and universities that create a streamlined process for transferring academic credits. Many also provide scholarships opportunities.

The Associate of Sciences degree not only transfers to appropriate baccalaureate programs, but also provides for career exploration and skills upgrading.
AFA Associate of Fine Art Recognizes a curricular focus on the fine arts (studio, graphic, digital, photographic and similar arts subjects). It focuses heavily on portfolio or performance preparation and is geared to those who wish to pursue a BFA at a university.
AA Associate of Arts Recognizes a curricular focus on the liberal arts (humanities, social sciences and similar subjects) and fine arts. The Associate of Arts degree not only transfers to appropriate baccalaureate programs, but also provides for career exploration and skills upgrading.
AAS Associate of Applied Science Recognizes a curricular focus on science, mathematics, engineering and technology. The Associate of Sciences degree not only transfers to appropriate baccalaureate programs, but also provides for career exploration and skills upgrading.
AAT Associate of Arts in Teaching Recognizes a curricular focus in teacher education that meets the lower-level degree academic content, outcomes, and requirements for teacher education similar to the first two years of a baccalaureate program in teacher education.
